CoreNAT – Core Facility

Research is one of the key activities of the Faculty of Natural Sciences (NAT), in addition to the education of students. With its decentralised research service and technology platform (Core Facility) CoreNAT, the faculty makes the range of available equipment visible and enables targeted searches for large-scale equipment and profile-forming devices, cooperation opportunities, methods and expertise. The aim is to use existing resources efficiently and to promote interdisciplinary research cooperation and joint projects. Experienced professional teams support research groups and students in solving complex analytical and technical questions. Services such as analyses, method development, training and access to equipment complete our offer. As a state-funded institution, CoreNAT does not compete with commercial providers.

Structure and access

CoreNAT is subdivided into twelve interdisciplinary units (research services and cooperation areas) from the disciplines of chemistry, biology, plant and geosciences. You'll find information about booking options for equipment and cooperation offers for cross-institutional use at the various faculty locations. The scope of resources is also open to external working groups as a service or project cooperation. In addition, CoreNAT provides an overview of one other important infrastructure element, namely the faculty's work-shops.

The search for equipment and cooperation opportunities can be started either directly by entering a keyword or topic-based via the twelve research fields.
