Brief information on the "Paths into Research" programme
This programme is targeted exclusively at those who have obtained their doctorate and young postdocs at the LUH. There are two different lines of funding: those who already have their doctorate can obtain start-up funding to support externally funded projects, which includes funds for scientific staff (although this is not sufficient for a three-year doctorate). Young postdoctoral researchers may apply for project grants.
Applications for project funding can be submitted to Department 4 (Research and EU university office, Technology Transfer) at the LUH by 1 May and 1 November each year. Applications for start-up funding can still be made at any time.
The German Study Prize of the Körber Foundation for elite doctoral students
The German Study Prize is awarded annually under the patronage of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. The call for applications is open to doctoral students of all disciplines who have completed their doctorate in a particular year. The deadline is always 1 March of the following year. Every year, the Körber Foundation, Hamburg, awards prizes totalling more than EUR 100,000, including three top awards of EUR 25,000 each and six second prizes of EUR 5,000.
