Interdisciplinary Bachelor's Degree Biology (B. A./B. Sc.)
The subject of biology as a first or second subject for the teaching profession at grammar schools
"The knowledge of the life sciences leads to perspectives and applications that affect us humans as participants in and designers of nature. Increasingly, they also influence political decisions and thus touch and change individual and social values. An essential goal of biology lessons is to make these discoveries and developments transparent and comprehensible to the pupils". (cf. Core Curriculum for the Gymnasium, published by the Ministry of Education of Lower Saxony).
Students choose biology as the first or second subject. This affects their study organisation, as they need to gain more credit points for first subject than in the second subject. In addition to the first and second subject, students complete modules from the professionalisation area: This includes educational science and psychology from the field of educational sciences as well as modules from the field of key competences. The course of study also includes the general school internship, in which students gain their first practical experience in the teaching profession.
Please note: This programme requires German language proficiency.
This degree course's language of instruction is German. Full details of the degree course are available only in German.
