Project "Glücksklee" at Herrenhausen Late - "Food from the air"
The project was successfully sent to the ISS at the beginning of the year and the experiment was carried out; the results are currently still being analysed. The project participants were awarded the Lower Saxony Science Prize 2023 for their innovation.
The project is now being presented by the participants at the Xplanatorium Herrenhausen and the event will be streamed live. How did the idea for this exciting project come about? How was it possible to maintain the nitrogen-fixing symbiosis in space, and what does this mean for the future in space?
The project leaders, Dr Natalija Hohnjec and Prof. Dr Helge Küster, Institute of Plant Genetics, Leibniz University Hannover, will provide an introduction to the topic, after which Justin Sondheim, Elsa Culemann and Dominik Woiwode will present the project itself.
