Dr. Kerstin Schäfer from the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography was awarded with this year's Peter Meusburger Award. The award, which comes with 2000 euros in prize money, is given for doctoral theses in the field of "Geography and Knowledge".
Her theses focuses on the contextualisation of knowledge production and underlines different types of spatially transferred knowledge. The insights from her research are becoming increasingly important because understanding how new technologies can be rapidly diffused globally will be a key element of the upcoming ecological transformation of our economies.
